The error message would suggest you are not booting from the CD, or the CD disk is not bootable.
Either change the boot order via the bios, or watch the startup screen to see if it gives an option to press any key to select the boot device.
When you say you formatted and used FDisk. You formatted last, right? Fdisk will undo the format if you use it again.
