It all depends on what you want to do on your PC.
1: I use Vista but XP os is faster for games (dont get Vista Basic)
2: 2gig is good in Vista 1 Gig for XP if not using to much for games.
3: LCD is a personal thing I use a 19inch ask your friends what brand they use, I have a View Sonic which I brought after reading about it in a mag.
4: very important, games or not?
5: yes I love them I use a G5 mouse for gaming Dont like wireless as I go through to many batteries (except for lappys)
6: hard drive get more than you need.
