My computer is an Emachines desktop with exterior speakers, it is only about a year old and was bought with Windows Vista already installed. The sound and everything worked fine until I was having electrical problems in my house and the computer was incorrectly shut off a number of times along with the rest of my house. When I turned the computer back on I got error message upon error message, and had to restore the computer. I did it with a backup file the first time, and I, at this point, did not have sound. I restored the computer again, this time without b0ack-up on the hard drive, I put all my files on DVD-Rs, and still - no sound.

It says "No Audio Output Device Installed." I tried to reinstall in manually by running set-up, because Sigmatel is physically present on my computer, but that didn't work. I tried calling Emachines, they sent me a re-imaging disc, which also, did not work. I had an Emachines tech take over my computer and try to fix it but they tried the same things I had previously told them I'd already tried, to no avail.

Is there ANYTHING I can do about this??? I start school online on February 11th and I need my sound to work in order to attend class. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
