Out of curiosity, I did a little checking up on this issue. Seems that it is not uncommon for folks to have wireless networking problems with Vista. Sooo... The following may be of some use, if not to the OP, then to anyone running Vista.
1) What operating system are you on? Vista? If so look here:

You can find other related pages by searching "vista wireless problem" or similar. Like this page, for instance:

2) First step is to get everything working unsecured. To state the obvious, first of all you must know the network setup works before setting passwords and encryption. Have you done that? (A related question: If it does NOT work unsecured, are you certain you have the correct adapter, "N" or "G"?)
3) I have read a number of threads on this. Some folks running Vista claim that nothing works except: Using WEP encryption rather than WPA, or reverting to Windows XP. Dunno, just putting that out there.
One can only hope that the impending release of SP1 for Vista will resolve most wireless networking problems. Good luck.
[EDIT] One other thing. In my case, (running XP), I had to bridge the modem to get the network up.
