Hi I've looked through this thread as I have the same problem formatted xp & no sound.
All drivers are up to date.The speakers are plugged in correctly(speakers built into display)by the lead.

No yellow tags on sounds display.

I expect I've missed something if I have just ask/point me in the right direction.

Very grateful for any help....
