[Ganja]

I have a desktop with windows xp media center edition. I recently got a new laptop as a gift running vista premium. Problem is, my friend came over with his laptop also running vista and we hooked them together with a ethernet cable and copied some movies to his and it was pretty fast. I tried to do the same with my desktop and it would not work. Obviously because of different operating systems(i'm assuming). So now I have a few questions... is there a way to transfer files between the two?(don't say windows easy transfer cuz thats way to slow over a network connection and i dont have the usb cable for that). If not, should i install xp on the vista laptop or vista on the xp desktop? Also what do you think about xp operating systems that are available to download in the torrent community?
