To Thor1160 -- for many people who don't like Vista it's not because of constant errors or it not working properly, or because they need to read the instructions. For many it's simply because it's slow, takes ages to load, and offers little more than resource-hungry eye candy over Windows XP, with very little little in the way of meaningful improvements.
And why? -- because XP is so damn good now and needs no improvements. That presented Microsoft with a problem -- where do we go from here? Fancy effects and visuals with no practical value -- that's where they went.
The problem with Vista is Vista itself, not the people who use it. Many of them are seasoned programmers and tech support workers -- you want to tell them they hate Vista only because they don't know how to use it properly?
You got one thing right -- Vista is here and it's here to stay. But better than XP? -- no way, at least not where it matters most.
