When I restart I get "No ADI codec is installed". Subsequently if I try to update drivers, specifying the location of the soundmax driver that was installed it gets about halfway (appears to be updating ksuser.dll I think) and then it fails with "The data is invalid".

Below is a snippet of my system summary taken from Everest with the relevant bits. Any help anyone can provide would be wonderful!

Go here to dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&catid=&impid=

install the chipset driver - then restart your comp - then install audio driver again

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
