I have a Dell Dimension 4550 with a pci sound card by Creative Labs, tricky situation, before I reloaded XP SP2 I got the drivers, when you get prompted to load the Audio Device the driver folder only gives you part of the sound card, the other part of the sound card where you get the PCI Input device error under Device Manager, you must go get the driver from Dell.com here is the URL for anyone interested:

Select the Creative Labs patch upgrade
