install the Chipset - Intel Driver - then restart your comp
then install the audio again.
[i]Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions.
Thanks for the help. followed instructions and still no luck. Is it possible that my soundcard is broke. If so is this something that is semi-reasonably easy to replace for this model laptop?
