I have upgraded my OS to Windows XP Pro and everything seems fine except my computer does not have any sound. When I check the Device Manager it indicates that Multimedia Audio Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible) are not installed (Code 28) (they both have a yellow question mark in front of them). In the Device Manager’s sound, video and game controllers I can see Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Drivers, Media Control Devices, and Video Codecs.

Upon reading previous messages, I downloaded Belarc Advisor which gave me the following information about my computer.

System Model
AOpen MX46-800N
System Serial Number: 12
Enclosure Type: Desktop

Main Circuit Board
Board: AOpen MX46-800N 9189U10007
Serial Number: 35310981KN77

I am pulling my hair trying to figure this out. Can anyone please help me restore my sanity?

Go to Aopen's support site, download and install the latest driver for your motherbaord (Model: MX46-800N)
