The weird thing is that I didn't lose audio all at once. first I think I deleted my audio codecs. got those reinstalled and audio worked for Windows mediaplayer and iTunes but not for flashplayer. reinstalled the newest version of flash player and still no audio. check the BIOS to see if audio is set to On, look at this from Dell, I know it says how to disable audio, but it will give the path on how to check
