All I know is the sound was fine prior to the recovery and yet here we are and I am audioless. I have a hard time believing the chip is trashed when all was well prior.

SOMEWHERE we're missing something but I'm clueless as to what it could be at this point. No sound and during recovery everything loaded to the smaller drive of the two. Something's very wrong here.....

The wrong model info is strange, get these 2 programs to check just what is on the machine, post them here if you want me to look, but they should give clues as to what is installed
Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

Get Everest, copy and paste the Computer / Summary section

Open Everest - expand Computer - select Summary - select Report - Quick Report - HTML . The report opens, using mouse hold the left button and starting at all above Debug-PCI - highlight all the text - when highlighted right click mouse - select Copy
Then open post – right click mouse – select Paste and the report will insert .
