Okay, about 2 weeks ago I purchased a new laptop (ECS Green-732) secondhand, it came with nothing on it, so I formatted the harddisk and installed windows XP home edition with service pack 2, ever since then I have been trying to get the sound working. aida32 tells me that it's a SIS 7012 audio device. But the manufactorers website used to have a download for Avance AC'97 driver, I installed the AC'97 and come up with the error 'this device cannot start.(code 10)'. So I then tried drivers for the SIS 7012 that aida32 mentioned, and that also has code 10. I'm really confused, and have tried other solutions posted on this website. any help is MUCH appreciated.
