Hey everyone, I just reformatted my computer and I'm trying to get it to connect to the internet. I plugged in the cable and nothing happened on the screen so I figure its not that easy... I then went into control panel and tried all the networking crap and nothing seemed to work.

Can someone tell me how to get this thing to connect???

some background info on what I'm trying to connect to:
1. I'm trying to connect to a network that's managed by a linksys modem
2. I'm not adding a new computer to the network, i'm ripping the cord from one and putting it in the other.
3. I'm not using dial-up it goes through comcast cables.

Update:: Is it possible to copy a connection to another computer? I do have a flash drive if I can do that... the connection on this computer says "Local Area Connection" if that helps at all...
