We had just gottan a new disc drive for the computer and the sound on the computer was still working, but there was no sound for cd's in the drive. Such as games ect. After the computer was stuck on a restart loop, we had to use the starter discs on it to reinstall everything. The sound hasn't worked since. I hope this helps.

What make and model is your comp, are they recovery discs, and do they have drivers on them. Usually when comp stuck in restart loop it's a hardware problem. How many disc drivers do you have.
