I have installed the AC'97 realtek drivers as that's what it has, it gives no warning/alert message that anything could be wrong in the device manager, and i have checked in BIOS that the sound is activated and i've checked so that it has the realtek sound as standard sound...

i'm lost now, really don't know what to do now.. appreciate all the help i can get

check this out

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.
