Extremely slow boot up with new computer

I helped build a new computer for a friend the other day.

Intel dual core 3.0 GHz processor
2- 2GB RAM
Windows Vista Premium
750 GB SATA HD
GeForce 8800 Graphics card

It was working perfectly when we finished, and we loaded up and installed all needed things for vista and Internet... no other programs were installed. Then today we bought another GeForce 8800 and bridged the two together. It needed 600 Watts and computer only had a 500 Watt power supply... we did turn it on but nothing happened.

Replaced power supply with 1000 Watt and turned it on... The computer displays the initial motherboard XFS symbol and takes ten minutes to get to phoenix BIOS screen. There are no error messages but you can see CMOS refreshing as page loads... So we let it continue with boot up and it still has not booted up. Any suggestions.

The BIOS worked fine except for the excruciatingly slow speed.

We took out other graphics card and have tried using a different one also. And have tried a different processor, RAM and have taken out and put back in everything. Nothing has changed the speed.
