Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

if still no audio check the BIOS - click images to focus

when comp boots press the <Del> key

down arrow to Onboard Devices Configuration - http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...v%20Config.JPG

AC'97 should be [Enabled] if showing [Disabled] use the + key to change

Press F10 key to Save & Exit

y to accept changes

XP will load

install audio driver again
