you need to check BIOS to see if audio set to [Auto]
as soon as comp boots press the <Del> Main Menu opens

use down arrow key to go to Integrated Peripherals - Press Enter

use down arrow to AC'97 it should be set to [Auto] if [Disabled] use the PgUp key to change
press F10 key to Save & Exit
y to accept changes
XP will load
install audio again
