Never used proshow.....but I have used Microsoft PowerPoint couple of years ago for my buddy's wedding, I did presentation show for the bride and the Groom and t worked great, you may want to give that a try. Power point has the options you are looking for such as fading away and adding text the photo and sound / background music and more......
