Personally, as most people on here, I prefere to use Firefox, it's more stable, it deosn't crash / freeze / hang as often as IE.
IE is OK in some ways, but with all the add-ons it's got, no wonder it's slow and bulky. Firefox is just a simple to use interface, it's got a nice user friendly design.
Go with firefox, but if you want to choose IE, then it's obviously your choice
