Hi, I was noticing the same thing and since I just got xp, I have to say its freakin me out a little bit. I think my problem is a little different and I'm hoping you have a suggestion. In my case I had taken an old Dell with 98 on it and had it completely wiped out and had the guy install xp for me. Hey, I'm thinkin this is great except no sound. I start playing with it and noticed that the picture of the speakers my system shows are the old ones I used to have. When I try to play music I don't get any errors. Everything seems to be working fine except for no sound. My soundcard is fine as far as I can tell. I have been trying to figure out how to reconfigure my speakers for the ones I have now but so far can't figure it out. I'm trying to be careful also because this guy that fixed it surprised me with a Roxio program that looks pretty cool for burning CD's, recording, etc. and I'm afraid that he didn't know about the speakers being different and now its all tied together and I don't want to mess up what he did. One other thing is that notice I didn't say "new" speakers, just different. They are JBL Platinum Series desktop speakers. I went to HP's website to try getting installation info but my system doesn't offer the options they're website told me to go to. I'm stumped. ANY suggestion would be great....Thanks
