Hi, I have just reformatted my PC (an Acer Aspire T620 with Realtek-Bloody realtek
)for the first time so I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to drivers etc, however before I did anything I went to this forum recommended by a friend and got the drivers I needed from a post in the forums, they were installed in the order stated, Mobo first then software/drivers all that good stuff.
Now the problem is that I now have sound but no microphone!
In Device manager "Multimedia video controller" has a problem but the rest went away after updating.
Heres the strange part! When I go into Windows Sound recorder and click record to test my mic it says "Your audio hardware cannot record into files like the current file. To record, create a new document" I do that and it says the same thing.
When I test my mic in control panel in "Test hardware" it says"Your sound hardware cannot simultaneously play sounds and capture voice" now thats completely wrong as before reformatting with the same hardware I was recording fine!

I got my Realtek driver and Motherboard driver from the advice for the same computer here

The only change I have made to the computer since it was fresh from the box is a new graphics card(Nvidia 8600) and a couple of gigs of RAM
