realtek is a pain in the a**
hi folks.
my notebook (acer Aspire3681WXMi) has become almost un-usable because of this. i am a musician. i need my computer for all kinds of sound applications. none of my efforts to revive that thing that does not at all deserve the name sound card (and i do know my way around computers a little) ended in succes.
when at first it would work properly, and there have been phases where it did, it must have been 1 day after guarantee expiration that the sound card output stopped working completely when a jack is plugged in.
support requests to realtek always ended up with them referring me to the acer support, where i did not get any new ideas.
to me this is a scandal. when reinstalling windows and using the original drivers it works, but updating to sp2/3 will kill the soundcard jack. and still, not even a commentary on the realtek website (not to think of a solution - by now i am pretty sure that the only 'solution' realtek can offer is not to create such crappy hardware anymore) despite this being an obviuosly wide-spread fault.
thanks realtek for wasting my 600 bucks.
