geforce lines
I know I'm replying 4 years later... wow, internet allows you to do crazy things, but what the hell, someone else might have the problem right!
No offence, but I find it hard to believe you are a network administrator if your PC is infected with lots of viruses and you don't know how to format a hard disk. I wouldn't like to be a computer on your network.
It may be the virus's causing this problem, but it sounds more like it is a problem with the graphics card.
Back in the day, I had a 486 and the cirrus logic graphics card in it failed twice, the failure manifested exactly as you describe; lines everywhere, and random crashes.
More recently, my Geforce FX 5200 has started to fail. I get random crashes and lines are starting to appear now too. Its not a virus because it happens even during the power-on self test, and I'm using FreeBSD with a fresh install also. Its annoying but I'm simply going to have to change the video card.
But obviously you need to sort out the virus thing regardless of the video card issue because that is just ridiculous.
