Running XP-SP2 on think pad laptop. Recently, my computer has been taking upwards of 30-45 minutes to completely load windows explorer and show my icons on the desktop. Reboot does the same thing.
When I start up my laptop, logon screen comes up with no issue. After login, it proceeds to show a blue screen for a long time, however, if I hit ctl-alt-dlt, immediately the computer starts loading personal settings and system settings and shows my background. If no ctl-alt-dlt is hit, it takes an additional 10 mins or so to get the background to show and settings to kick in. Now that the background is showing, it probably takes an additional 15-20 mins (at least) for the icons and windows explorer to kick in but it does allow ctl-alt-dlt to show.Once the desktop is finally loaded, everything seems fine?
Running trend micro officescan and this usually has a weekly scan that is kicked off on Wednesday but hasn't been automatically kicking off which leads me to believe maybe it is malware or virus?
