it's very late here, need to sleep, but I suspect it's the ati video driver, can you check Control Panel - Add/Remove / is the Microsoft Netframework 2.0 installed and also the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture, could also be shown as Microsoft UAA

I'll post later, but do you have a System Restore Point you can use to restore to before you installed any drivers,then we can start fresh
