Hi hi I came across your thread accidentally while I was trying to find an answer to my dilemma.
I'm still new to these... computing/hardware/software (let's say all) stuffs and I have a few questions and I wonder if you can help me >.<
So I bought my HP DV5-1102TX but I want to upgrade its RAM to 4GB (stock is only 2GB).
Does a 4GB RAM run better with a 64-bit windows than a 32-bit windows?
As for the Dual Channeling RAM thingy, if I was to install another 2 GB RAM, does it have to be of the same "brand" for the hardware to work efficiently?
Say I used a third party 2GB RAM (kingstone) and it's of a different brand from the stock RAM, will that affect the performance of the laptop?
Last question, does all notebooks have the dual channel feature? xD
