The problem may have arisen due to the fact that I installed XP Home from a CD that did not come with the laptop. A 'restore' CD was supplied but my daughter has so far failed to locate it. One of the local IT gurus advised me that it did not matter which XP CD I used as long as I input the Product Key from the sticker on the laptop. This I did and everything went smoothly including activating XP on the 'net.
Just in case I forgot to mention it earlier, there are no question/exclamation marks showing against any components of the Sound , Video and Game Controllers in System Manager.
In the absence of my daughter finally locating the system restore CD, I would be most grateful for any other ideas on how I can solve this problem.

I can't find this model at Samsung, I'm searchimg in the UK, but if you can link to the model, then install the chipset driver, restart the comp, then install audio driver.
