This was the answer for my desktop!!!

This should be the fix to it.
I had both my desktops with this same problem...The first I was able to "ghost" my old drive to my newer one to fix the problem....Now today I tackled my other computer with the same problem I Did the following...Right click my computer,,click manage, double-click Services and Apps,,Click Services,,Scroll down and change Windows Audio to automatic,, Make sure plug and play is also on automatic,,reboot......Now it is perfect!! Wasted hours updating drivers , different sound card, etc........good luck, Cobalt
