i work with a sony vaio pcv222 desktop and for whatever reason the cd rom (lower disk drive) won't open on it's own. I thought it was a mechanical problem but is there any chance it's a problem not concerning the mechanical gizmo that opens and closes the drive? my dad seems to think it has to do with the driver software.

you'll have to excuse this thread if it sounds like i don't know what i'm talking about i am here to learn!
