some AMD processors have built in hardware DEP (Data Execution Prevention) capabilities which can be controlled in the bios, disable this feature and your problems should be fixed. If this problem occurred after a bios update, that may be an indication that the errors point to this issue. If you are using a new motherboard, your may have a new enough bios that takes advantage of AMD's feature. Intel may have a similar feature available as well for the Intel crowd. Or Intel problems may be related to one of the many other issues described previously
