Now I think I'd share something more original (NOT the 'same problem') yet again with integrated Audio on Intel chipset.
The board is Intel d845pt (micro ATX)
After I installed fresh copy of Xp Pro SP2, I went to Intel site to download the inf chipset and driver updates.
Installed the inf chipset, intel application accelerator, AND tried to install the audo driver suggested at Intel website. This one
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...&DwnldID=5582&
But this driver failed to install! Installation starts, but almost of the very end it says something like 'Sound driver not found, if you press OK we'll reboot your system and try to continue installation", but nothing happens upon reboot.
In fact, after I just installed Windows XP SP2 it already FOUND the audio device and named it something like "AC97 integarted audio" (I don't remember it exatctly as this is not a primary computer).
AND sound actually worked with that driver, but in a weird way: I have no sound at all if I connect the headphone to the line out ar the back of the computer. And if I connect the headphone to the front panel audio (it's wired to the system board, I have sound BUT only in left channel (tried several headsets).
Any suggestions?
