I have an HP Pavilion dv6930us and I'm having issues with my Realtek HD Audio.
At random, my laptop decided it didn't want to switch over to my headphones when I plugged them in. I uninstalled the Realtek Driver software and let my computer find a generic driver.
Well, it fixed an unrelated bug, but the computer still won't switch to the headphones. So I checked the device manager for Sound devices, and the computer recognizes that the headphones are plugged in. I went into the Advanced tab and tested the device...sure enough, headphones worked fine.
I did what InsaneSavage did, and the headphones work fine, no issues...So, it's not a Realtek SOFTWARE problem, it seems more like a hardware issue...which sucks because I don't have the cash to repair it.
