Check the drive... there should be THREE connections plugged into the CD-RW... one is the power supply (red,yellow,black wires), one is the ribbon cable, and the THIRD (a small wire, usually black and red twissted) is the AUDIO cable. This is the wire that the CD drive uses to send audio down to the sound card. If your drive can't play audion CD's or game music (which often plays right from the CD) then this wire probably isn't connected.
