I read a notice in the newsletter about Windows update installing the wrong driver for the Lucent Wind Modem. And the trouble began just about that time.
I have my computer set up to automatically download and install Windows Updates. I guess it may have been an error this time. I will have to change that.
I went to Modemsite (?) and found a link to the updated driver needed for my modem. Downloaded it and installed it. So far, so good. I have been on-line for a solid hour now without losing my connection once.
I know, shoot me for being so stupid, right? I'm glad I discovered the problem myself, and more so for being able to fix it.
