you have a motherboard with a nvidia chipset, and you are using a radeon video card, i have seen this trouble at several forums with the same board, i bought a radeon 9000 when i built the pc i am on now, it ran fine with 98/ME installed but would not run 2k or xp, and if i got the os to install i got the same blue screen, i bought a nvidia ge force 5200 128 ddr and the problem disapeared, my wife really likes the radeon on her intel chipset though. so she got a upgrade too.
