my suggestion is this, get the diagnostic tools for your hard drive, can download them from the mfg. web site if you dont have them, do a low level format, then use the windows install to create the partitions and format, i know why you install with 2k, then upgrade to xp, if you email me at
known_criminal@msn.com i will send you a program that will make your copy of xp bootable with the instructions on how to do it(very easy) then use your xp cd to do a clean install. all you will need is a burner and a blank cdr.
