Hello Everybody,
I have been using an Internal USR Win Modem for the last many years and is working fine.

I have recently purchased a USR External Modem (V.92) Model 5630B and m facing severe connectivity problems.
Mostly my modem drops during negotiation given different errors like: a. Device connected to the port not functioning properly. b. the remote computer didnot respond in timely manner. etc. etc.
Some time after many tries it is get connected but the connectivity is very slow e.g 28.8 to 36.0 kbps and after few minutes of connection it stops recieving data and then disconnected.

At the same time if i plug my telephone cable to my internal modem it connects to same ISP giving connectivity speed between 45 to 50.6 kbps.

I have tried my level best to troubleshoot this problem by changing port speed, flow control, modem speed, re-installing driver, disabling v.92, so much so I updated the firmware version of my modem from USR site but no success.

Could any body suggest a solution.
