go to start>run>type
services.msc
scroll down untill you find it then right click it, select properties, set the startup type to disabled. while you are at it, disable messenger and remote registry. the messenger is not any you probably use like windows, msn, or yahoo. it is for lan messages. it is the cause of the messenger pop up adds and a few other security risk.
