yeah I did that too....I had two XPs on the computer....took forever but the Dell lady told me to go to the start button, right click on My Computer, click the Advanced tab, go to Startup and Recovery, click settings, then click on the edit button, that should bring up a notepad with righting...delete one of the two XPs you have....that should fix it.....IF you happen to have two XPs on the computer!!
That probably doesnt help you out but if you happen to try to install XP yourself then that may help
