Have the same problem. Tried several registry utilities including tuneup registry cleaner and tuneup RegistryDefrag and microsoft regclean. No luck. Tried DDE Shares Disable also. Also tried disabling several other system applications with no luck. I ran the system files check utility successfully. I'm using Win XP Professional SP1 with all current updates from the Microsoft Windows Update Site... I even used an older restore point and tried the "Use last good known configuration" option during XP boot. The problem comes up even in xp safe mode.
I'm out of ideas really...I suppose I'll try waiting for SP2, but doubt it'll solve it. Anyone has any more ideas?
