My Norton Icon is "not working"

In windows XP (in other windows versions as well but mine is XP proffesional)
There are Icons in the system tray. So far so good....
Normaly when you double click on the icon it will open a screen (a window) for that program.
Ever since I re-installed Norton AV 2002 on my machine, that system tray is only "half" active. If you right-click on it you get the options, and one of them is to open Norton. When clicking on this option nothing happens. When clicking on the other options they seem to work fine i.e. you can open the Norton AV configuration screen or shut Norton altogrther. Obviously double clicking on the icon generates the same result.... ziltch!
Is there an easy fix or will I have to re-install it again?
