Yeah you can try to upgrade the driver to see of that helps with the performance (doubtfull though).
Does your motherboard have an AGP slot?
If so I would get a atleast a 64mg AGP card and your performance issues will be gone.
It's pretty hard to get a on-board video or PCI video card to perform correctly with the newer games out there.
