The svchost.exe

When my computer is idle, the processor seems to be runing really high (i'd
say, and this is according to Windows Task Manager, between 20-30%)

When I kill one of the SVCHost.exe files it drops right down to under 5%.

I was wondering whether this is normal or a problem (i.e. virus on my comp t
hat I haven't been able to resolve with my anti-virus protection)

I got a Tasklist associated with the svchost.exe files. I got this list twic
e, once when my computer was running rather heywire and once when I killed t
he offending svchost.exe. I subtracted the tasks that appeared in the second
svchost.exe from the first to find which were causing the pc usage and they
are as follows:

-AudioSrv, Browser, CryptSvc, Dhcp, dmserver, ERSvc, FastUserSwitchingCompatibility, lanmanserver, lanmanworkstation, Messenger, Netman, Nla, Schedule, seclogon, ShellHWDetection, srservice, TermService, TrkWks, W32Time, WmdmPmSp, wuauserv, WZCSVC

If anyone can see anything suspicious or that might explain what is going on
. I can only hope I am clued enough in computers to understand your response
. Anyway any assistance would be great,
