hmm..i have the same kind of problem, its with a mouse but it doesnt freeze.
mine is an HP mouse and from time to time it will just shoot straight up into the corner of the screen..or wherever it wants to, its such a peicce of sh** . but when i hooked up my wireless microsoft mouse it doesnt spaz out like that or anything, it works just fine. i think u should just get a new mouse, like a wireless one, or just any NEW mouse, something not out of date. i would use my wireless mouse but its out of batteries, so i suggest u invest into the wireless kind that recharges. i hope this helped you.
