I have a legal full version of xp pro that I would like to install over xp home sp2. The xp pro is not sp 2 so it will not simply upgrade over home. I know I have to boot from the cd. However, how can I install the pro without losing the files and apps I have. I don't want a duel boot system. I am warned that if I install in the existing windows directory I will lose everything. Do I install in a new directory? If so then what? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
