I recently upgraded to XP Pro and when i did the sound on my Compaq presario 700 stopped working. It seemed like everything was working good but when i tried to play some music no sound came out. On startup I can hear krackling nioses when the computer starts up (they are very faint) but there is no sound after the computer has completely started up.
