I do not have any firewalls on both computers. Both are in the same work group.
I do not have any third party firewall(s) on either machine.
I am using a hub. The exact message is as follows:

You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

"Logon Failure:the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."

As I know there is no need to set up user at the other computer.
I have shared the folders, by default windows xp has shared folders. I am not able to see those also
